Bell's entry into the music business began when she was part of the all-female gospel group Zie'l, which she formed with her sister, Crystal Bell, and three other singers in 1998. Barely into her teens at the time, she and her bandmates spent the next eight years developing an impressive, richly harmonic sound that incorporated urban contemporary gospel, Christian R&B, and soul. The group made their debut on Light Records with 2006's Genesis, returning eight years later in 2014 with Zie'l (Pronounced Zy-El) which proved to be their breakthrough, earning a number 24 placement on Billboard's Gospel Albums chart and a pair of Stellar Award nominations.
In 2016, after years of touring and recording with Zie'l, Bell announced her intentions to pursue a solo career and issued the soulful, seven-song independent release, Just Believe. In 2018, she signed with revered southern gospel, soul, and blues imprint Malaco, and began working on a new full-length recording. After touring alongside Donnie McClurkin, Charles Jenkins, and James Fortune as part of Fred Hammond's Festival of Praise tour, Bell issued the 2019 single "Going." ~ Timothy Monger, Rovi
