Montreal native Alex Fleming debuted as Black Atlass on the Fool's Gold label in 2013 with "Paris," a single that hinted at his range by featuring an acoustic piano version along with the heavily processed original electronic mix. A six-track EP entitled Young Bloods followed in 2014. He appeared on Action Bronson's Top Ten album Mr. Wonderful in 2015, and issued his first full-length, Haunted Paradise, in 2016. Fleming signed with the Weeknd's Republic-supported XO label in 2018. That year, he appeared on the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack with his and Jessie Reyez's "Sacrifice" -- a track that quickly racked up streams in the tens of millions -- and issued the Pain Pleasure EP. Fleming made further refinements to his sound with the 2020 album Dream Awake. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
