Portland, OR power trio Middian was founded in 2005 by vocalist and guitarist Mike Scheidt, when his previous musical concern, YOB, collapsed after releasing four albums of frequently acclaimed, epic-trance metal. Faced with the decision to either re-staff YOB with new players (bassist Isamu Sato and drummer Travis Foster having simultaneously quit), or start fresh under a new band moniker, Scheidt chose the latter and presently recruited Will Lindsay (bass/vocals) and Scott Headrick (drums) to complete Middian's lineup. Two years later, their debut effort, Age Eternal, was released by Metal Blade and, while its songs maintained the drawn-out templates emblematic of YOB's albums, they also explored additional elements of doom metal and post-hardcore. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi
