Biography
Known as one of the first groups to play in the jazz-rock style, Jeremy and the Satyrs' sole album, from 1968, has been heard by relatively few. Playing in a late '60s groove with echoes of free jazz, Roland Rahsaan Kirk (particularly in the flute), and soul singers, the record can now be seen as one of the first to address itself to a contemporary audience unconcerned with conventional boundaries between these genres. It wasn't that great a disc, though, lacking strong vocals and material. ~ Richie Unterberger, Rovi
