Biography
DYLAN (aka Natasha Woods) is a bold, vibrant U.K. singer/songwriter who set aside the melancholic electronic pop of her first two EPs, to chase the in-your-face, rock-inspired sound with which she made her major-label breakthrough in 2022.

Natasha Woods was born in the Suffolk village of Bures in 1999 and was raised on a diet of AC/DC and Guns N' Roses by her father. At the age of ten, she began to teach herself to play piano and guitar, inspired by family trips up the coast to the nearby Latitude Festival. Between leaving school and taking her A-level exams, Woods wrote songs which she sent to Will Hicks, a producer who'd previously worked with Ed Sheeran and Jamie Lawson. Hicks liked what he heard, and in October 2019 -- along with Grumpy Old Management, Sheeran's representatives of choice -- he backed the AWAL Records release of Woods' debut EP, Purple. The EP drew comparison to the confessional, moody pop of Lorde and featured a single, "Sour Milk," which benefited from playlisting by BBC Radio 1. DYLAN, her chosen nom de plume, was a reference to the name that her parents had selected in the event of her being born a boy.

May 2020 brought the Red EP, but it symbolized the end of the first phase of DYLAN's career. Once life in the U.K. began to return to some sense of normality following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, she returned in April 2022 with the upbeat, confident, and immediate No Romeo EP. Inspired by a messy relationship break-up, the record's "You're Not Harry Styles" became one of her most streamed songs. Its success cemented an already mooted deal with Island Records, and DYLAN's profile was also given a boost by subsequent slots supporting the likes of Sheeran, Bastille, and Tate McRae in European arenas. In July, she returned to Latitude Festival and also made appearances at Reading and Leeds, promoting singles such as "Girl of Your Dreams" and "Nothing Lasts Forever." Marketed as a mixtape, The Greatest Thing I'll Never Learn appeared in October and featured both of those tracks as well as the mid-paced, anthemic single "Blue." That same month, DYLAN began a run of sold-out U.K. dates before embarking on her first world tour. ~ James Wilkinson, Rovi
