The Honor System
from Chicago, IL
formed
January 1, 1999 (age 25)
Biography
After the 1998 breakup of the Broadways, ex-members Dan Hanaway (vocals, guitar) and Rob DePaola (drums) moved on to form the Honor System later that year. Along with guitarist Nolan McGuire and bassist Chris Carr, a complex front of politically motivated pop-punk resulted as they gigged in their native Chicago. Asian Man Records eventually released the Honor System's first full-length, entitled Single File, in 2000. The 100% Synthetic EP was issued a year later on Double Zero before the guys moved to Grey Flight for June 2003's Rise and Run. The band went on hiatus, and in February 2005 Hanaway and Tyler Wiseman (who had replaced McGuire on guitar along the way) formed the band Whale/Horse. ~ Mike DaRonco, Rovi
