Biography
Making harmonic indie pop that's both sophisticated and breezy in nature, the founding members of Via Audio met in 2003 as students at the Berklee College of Music in Boston before relocating to New York City. Within a year, vocalist/guitarists Jessica Martins and Tom Deis, bassist David Lizmi, and drummer Dan Molad started playing regional shows and put out a self-titled EP with Kill Normal Records. The band eventually came to the attention of Spoon drummer and producer Jim Eno, who offered to record and co-produce their full-length debut at his Public Hi-Fi studio in Austin, Texas. The resulting Say Something was released by Sidecho Records in 2007. With Adam Sturtevant replacing Molad, and Eno returning as producer, Animalore followed on Undertow in 2010. Via Audio's self-released third LP, 2014's Natural Language, featured the official lineup of Martins, Deis, and Lizmi, while Molad, by then drummer for Lucius, acted as producer. ~ Marcy Donelson, Rovi
