Swedish group Apollyon (not to be confused with Tom G. Warrior's Apollyon Sun), was formed in 1992 by Archdemon Diabolos (drums) and Lord Worros (guitar/bass). Despite their corpse paint, leather spikes and overall satanic demeanor, their melancholy style and slower pace was almost more in tune with doom than black metal. A demo called Creators of Evil Thoughts was recorded, but the duo soon fell out and it wasn't until 1994 that a revamped line-up (featuring guitarist Sorgh and bassist Korihor replacing Worros) returned with yet another demo, Troldeskovens Aander. Korihor was then briefly replaced by Azter and vocalist Vrykolatios was added in time for their 1998 debut L.P. Diaboli Gratio, released by Full Moon Productions. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi
