Biography
Arel is a composer of electronic music, educated at the Ankara Conservatory and also in Paris in sound engineering. He worked for Radio Ankara and later as a technician for the Columbia-Princeton Electronic Music Center in the USA. He became a citizen of the US in 1979. He has taught at Yale and served as professor of music at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
