Biography
An evocative indie rock outfit from Portland, Oregon founded by songwriter, forester, and touring member of Ramona Falls Matt Sheehy, Lost Lander crafts structured, melody-driven indie pop with an emphasis on the bucolic. Steeped in the lush and overcast patina of the Pacific Northwest, Lost Lander's 2011 debut album, DRRT, which focused on the junction of nature and technology, featured production work from Menomena's Brent Knopf. As much a collaborator as a producer, Knopf's idiosyncratic production style complemented Sheehy's pastoral and often enigmatic songs. Sarah Fennell (keyboards), Patrick Hughes (drums), and William Seiji Marsh (bass) joined the group and Knopf sat in the production chair for the band's second long-player, 2015's electro-tinged and heartfelt Medallion, which shifted its focus to the heady subjects of love, loss, life, and death. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
