AJ Wilson grew up in Orange County, where he became obsessed with skating and punk rock. After touring as a roadie and a bass player for a few bands, he moved to Portland, Oregon for a few years, and eventually returned to California. He started producing electronic music as OAA, blending '90s techno and industrial influences. He released TEAR 015, a cassette of five tracks recorded live, in 2018. He contributed a techno mix of "Adamah" to the Body's 2019 release Remixed. OAA's Devoid of Spirit, Addicted to Fantasy and Anosognosia, both recorded by Seth Manchester at Providence studio Machines with Magnets, appeared in 2020, and 2021's Contracted Reality was recorded at the same studio. OAA's first full-length collaboration with the Body, Enemy of Love, was released by Thrill Jockey in 2022, with Full of Hell's Dylan Walker guesting on the song "Barren of Joy." ~ Paul Simpson, Rovi
