Zimbabwe's Jairos Jiri, or the Disabled Musicians' Society, sponsors a band, which serves the dual function of acting as the organization's goodwill ambassadors and proving the talents and abilities of handicapped musicians. The band is led by Paul Matavire, who is blind, and even though they are virtually unknown in the West (except in Germany, which they toured in 1988), their skills are very well thought of in their home country. ~ Steve Huey, Rovi
