Biography
Actress/singer Rebecca Luker was born in Helena, AL, on April 17, 1961, and raised in Birmingham, AL. She made her Broadway debut as a replacement cast member in The Phantom of the Opera. She first originated a role on Broadway when she had a featured part in The Secret Garden (April 25, 1991). She starred in Broadway revivals of Show Boat (October 2, 1994), The Sound of Music (March 12, 1998), and The Music Man (April 27, 2000). She was a replacement cast member in the 2003 revival of Nine and had a featured part in the Broadway production of Mary Poppins from its opening on October 14, 2006, to February 27, 2010. She has also appeared in many regional productions of musicals.

Luker has sung on Broadway cast albums for The Secret Garden, Show Boat, The Sound of Music, and The Music Man, and she has appeared on concert cast and studio cast recordings of numerous other musicals. Varèse Sarabande released her debut solo album, Anything Goes: Rebecca Luker Sings Cole Porter, on March 26, 1996. Her second (Leaving Home) and third (Greenwich Time) solo albums were released by PS Classics on March 16, 2004, and October 20, 2009, respectively. ~ William Ruhlmann, Rovi
