Biography
An impressive chance-taking singer, Ann Dyer was one of the hits of the 1994 Monterey Jazz Festival, stretching out standards and really pouring a lot of emotion into Ornette Coleman's Lonely Woman. She graduated from Mills College in 1979 with a modern dance degree and had plans to be a dancer, but her singing gained better reviews. Dyer recorded her debut for the Mr. Brown label in 1993. ~ Scott Yanow, Rovi
