Biography
Alternative punk band Crumbox formed in Los Angeles in 1993, when vocalist Scott Bradford, recently arrived from North Carolina, started rehearsing with a punk trio made up of guitarist Rich Wellerstein, brother Rob Wellerstein on drums, and bassist Jason Spivak. The group gigged around in Southern California's fertile punk community, opening for innumerable bands (including Archers of Loaf, the Meices, Bivouac and the Toadies) and recording a single for Catapult in 1995. Though Spivak left the group soon after, Frank Cunsolo took his place, and appearances on an IRS Records compilation increased their exposure. Signed to Time Bomb in 1996, the quartet released their first album, Resident Double U, in 1997. Map of the Sky followed a year later. ~ John Bush, Rovi
