Working under the guise of a fictional brothers duo, the Incredible Vickers Brothers is in fact the project of Northern California musician Robert Vickers who, for this endeavor, assumes the roles of both Rob and Bob. A consummate pop craftsman and multi-instrumentalist, Vickers is known in the Bay Area for founding early-'90s psych-pop outfit Cerebral Corps and drumming for indie pop stalwarts the Orange Peels. With Orange Peels frontman Allen Clapp acting as producer, Vickers invented the Incredible Vickers Brothers partnership and recorded the band's debut, Gallimaufry, which was released by the Bus Stop label in 2008. A mix of Beatlesque jangle pop and surfy Americana tones, Vickers revived the project a full decade later with 2018's Torch Songs for Swingers, which Clapp again produced. ~ Timothy Monger, Rovi
