The Space Twins
Biography
Begun by Brian Bell before he started playing guitar for Weezer, the Space Twins became Bell's main gig during Weezer's hiatus in the late 1990s. Formed with former girlfriend Susan Fox and drummer Mike Elliott, the Space Twins debuted with the EP No Show in 1994 on World Domination Records. The band has a heavy, indie pop sound, resembling what Weezer might sound like if Bell were at the helm, with some spacy effects and celestial imagery thrown in. Tim Maloof replaced Fox, Glenn Maloof joined as a second guitarist, and the group released two more EPs on Duck Butter Records in 1998, Osaka Aqua Bus and TV, Music and Candy. The Space Twins played some shows in Los Angeles and began working on their full-length debut before Weezer reformed in 2000. ~ Ron DePasquale, Rovi
