Biography
Texas-born singer/songwriter Jason Sellers grew up traveling with his family 's gospel group and loving country music. After he moved to Nashville at the age of 18, he began his professional music career as the bassist in Vince Gill's touring band. Gigs with Billy Joe Royal and Ricky Skagg's touring bands followed, and Sellers built a reputation as a talented singer and musician. While not on the road, Sellers focused on his songwriting, providing tunes for artists like Pam Tillis, Lee Ann Womack, Jessica Andrews, Lonestar and Wade Hayes. His debut album, 1997's I'm Your Man, blended Sellers' gospel and country roots and featured backing vocals from Gill. Two years later, A Matter of Time continued Sellers' soulful country direction, and featured cameos from Tillis, Womack, Alison Krauss and others. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
