Hotboii grew up in West Orlando and was rapping by age 15. With financial and emotional support from his mother, he began releasing music in 2016, finding his sound on early tracks like "Switcharoo" and "LowKey." Both his rap style and knack for visual presentation grew over the next few years, and singles like 2019's "YG's" got a lot of attention, partially because of their captivating videos. Several Hotboii songs went viral, and in 2020 he signed on with Hitmaker Music Group for the release of the mixtape Kut Da Fan On. The project included "Don't Need Time," a chilling tribute to departed friends and Hotboii's most popular song up until that point. Double O Baby, which included guest spots from Lil Mosey and Toosii, arrived later that year topping the Heatseekers chart. 2021 saw Hotboii team up with Future for the single "Nobody Special," and he issued another chart-topper in 2022 with his second LP, Life of a Hotboii. ~ Fred Thomas, Rovi
