Biography
Formed in Los Angeles by members of the Summer Set and Nekokat, Twin XL merges rousing indie rock with glistening synths and pop hooks in the vein of bands like the Score and COIN. They debuted with the EP How to Talk to Strangers in 2019.
Brothers John and Stephen Gomez, both of the Summer Set, met Nekokat's Cameron Walker-Wright at a house party in 2017. They collectively agreed to meet up again later for a day in the studio. Already working as producers and songwriters for hire outside of their bands, they eventually wrote and recorded a set of songs with Walker-Wright singing lead, John Gomez on guitar, and Stephen Gomez on bass. Calling themselves Twin XL, the trio released their first two singles, "Good" and "Sunglasses," in late 2018. Their debut EP, How to Talk to Strangers, followed on RED MUSIC in the first half of 2019. ~ Marcy Donelson, Rovi
