Biography
Named for bandleader Roz Raskin, Roz and the Rice Cakes are an indie pop group from Providence, Rhode Island. Injecting lustrous pop with significant doses of atmosphere and experimentalism, the band's founding members also included Casey Belisle and Justin Foster. After forming in 2008 and building a following through regular touring, including shows with bands such as Passion Pit and OK Go, and festivals like South by Southwest and the Newport Folk Festival, the trio signed with Team Love Records for their 2014 debut, Need to Feed. Stand-alone single "Close Encounter/The Conversation" followed in 2015. Recorded and co-produced by Bradford Krieger at his Big Nice Studio in Rhode Island, their second album, Devotion, was released on Team Love in 2017. ~ Marcy Donelson, Rovi
