Howse is the nom de musique of Rhode Island's Nathaniel Oak, who mixes house, dark ambient, juke, downtempo, and footwork into a murky but nevertheless kinetic sound of his own. Oak released his first two EPs, Undizputed and JST CHLLN, on Howse's Bandcamp page, and his atmospheric yet intricate style led to the release of a third EP, Trackz, on the Astronautico imprint in 2011. Tri Angle stepped in and signed Howse in 2012, with the Lay Hollow EP marking his debut for the label in June of that year. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
