The Coisas Nossas group, formed in the mid-'70s by some of the best Carioca musicians of the choro genre, performs songs from the '20s and '30s interspersed with comic sketches, and originals, and has been working with João de Barro, Marlene, Miúcha, Eduardo Dusek, and others, with excellent reviews. The group, whose name was taken from a Noel Rosa samba, debuted on October 13, 1975, at the PUC University (Rio de Janeiro) with the tribute show Noel Rosa, which was later also performed in public schools. In the next year, the group inaugurated the Art Museum of Campo Grande in Rio de Janeiro with the show Novos Músicos Tocam Velhos Mestres, interpreting compositions by Pixinguinha, Noel Rosa, and Ary Barroso. In 1977, the Coisas Nossas backed up Marlene at the João Caetano theater for the Seis e Meia project. In the next year, they recorded originals for the soundtrack of the film #Cidade Mulher (Humberto Mauro). Also in 1978, the group participated again in the Seis e Meia project, performing the show Homenagem ao Sinhô in Rio. Four years later, they performed with Marlene in the show Na Boca do Povo at the Funarte hall; it was considered the best show of the year by some of the critics. In 1983, the group put together the show Araci de Almeida e Coisas Nossas at the Carlos Gomes theater. Also that year, the Coisas Nossas performed with João de Barro and Miúcha in the tribute show Viva Braguinha. The same year the group, with João de Barro, Miúcha, and Eduardo Dusek, presented Viva Braguinha at the Municipal Theater during the ceremony celebrating the delivery of the Shell prize to João de Barro. In 1987, during the 50th anniversary of Noel Rosa's death, the Coisas Nossas performed Noel Rosa Não Morre Tão Cedo at Funarte Hall.
