He jumped into music after hearing a diss track made about him, which he responded to by heading into a studio and recording a comeback. Despite Lockwood having no previous experience, the track impressed everyone who heard it, prompting him to keep at it. In short time, he was recording tracks and playing shows regularly, receiving his break after a fan introduced him to DJ Set Free, who was responsible for putting together mixtapes for local talent. Millyz's first official mixtape, Sped, arrived in 2015. His newfound recognition spurred Lockwood to move to New York in 2016, where he met Jadakiss, who would go on to become his mentor. The next year, Millyz issued a follow-up to his debut mixtape titled Sped Two: The Sequel. In the ensuing years, he would begin releasing the Blanco series of mixtapes on an annual basis, including three mainline entries that culminated in a Dave East collaboration, 2021's Pablo Blanco. Blanco V appeared in 2022, hitting the number two spot on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. ~ Liam Martin, Rovi
