Zambri
Biography
Experimental electro-pop outfit Zambri is the project of Cristi Jo and Jessica Zambri, sisters who began making music together while they were still children. The pair's music first drew a buzz in 2009, when an early lineup of the band released the Bang for Changes EP. One of the EP's songs, "Easier," was remixed by artists including Does It Offend You, Yeah? and Baltimoroder. During most of 2010, Jessica and Cristi Jo reworked the band's sound and lineup, adding drummer Seth Kasper and multi-instrumentalist Will Spitz for live shows; that year, they also performed as backup singers at Hooray for Earth's CMJ performance (Jessica Zambri is married to that band's frontman, Noel Heroux). Late in 2011, another EP, Glossolalia, arrived, bringing with it a more avant-garde approach that continued with Zambri's full-length debut, House of Baasa, which featured collaborations with Heroux and Bear in Heaven's Jon Philpot. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
