Biography
Borderland is a collaboration between two of techno's most legendary and influential figures, Detroit's Juan Atkins and Berlin's Moritz von Oswald. The two originally collaborated in 1992 as part of 3MB (along with Thomas Fehlmann of the Orb). The trio's spacy, jazz-influenced full-length 3MB Feat. Magic Juan Atkins was released by Tresor Records, the label associated with the Berlin-based Tresor nightclub, and the collaboration helped cement the connection between the Detroit and Berlin techno scenes. In 2013, Atkins and von Oswald returned to Tresor for an album of dubby minimal techno titled Borderland. Three years later, coinciding with Tresor's 25th anniversary, the duo resumed their collaboration with the album Transport, this time credited to "Juan Atkins & Moritz von Oswald present Borderland." ~ Paul Simpson, Rovi
