Biography
With a sound that merges the sprawling expanses of post-rock with influences from around the globe, Rose Windows' sonic explorations take listeners on a long, circuitous, and often psychedelic trip through the lesser-known corners of the music world. Formed in 2010 by guitarist and songwriter Chris Cheveyo, the Seattle band's membership grew with Cheveyo's ambitious vision for a sound, recruiting singer Rabia Shaheen Qazi, keyboardist David Davila, guitarist Nils Petersen, bassist Richie Rekow, drummer Pat Schowe, and flautist Veronica Dye, giving the band an expansive arsenal to match the enormity of their sound. Rose Windows began work on an album in 2012 with producer Randall Dunn, which culminated in the release of their debut, The Sun Dogs, on Sub Pop in 2013. The group released a 7" single, "There Is a Light" in 2014, and recorded their second album in Bogalusa, Louisiana, again produced by Dunn. In early 2015, the group announced the May release of their self-titled second album. However, they disbanded before the album's release. ~ Gregory Heaney, Rovi
