Biography
Ann Magnuson was raised in West Virginia but left her roots behind when she moved to New York in the '70s and became a downtown scenester and multi-talent. She has worked as a performance artist, a writer for national magazines, a singer and lyricist in the cult rock group Bongwater, and as an actor (mostly comedic) on the stage and screen. A regular guest on television sitcoms, a series of her own, #Anything but Love, coincided with her work in film. She played lead opposite John Malkovich in Susan Seidelman's #Making Mr. Right (1987) and has since had minor roles in bigger films, like #A Clear and Present Danger (1994), as well as in some real turkeys, like her role as an Indian goddess in #Cabin Boy (1994). She's staged a series of one-woman shows for small theater and continues to record as a rock artist. ~ Denise Sullivan, Rovi
