Biography
Harry Simoneaux was a saxophonist in the Riff Raffs, a Lafayette, LA group that played New Orleans-styled rock and R&B in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Several of the musicians in the group recorded as solo artists for the Ram label, including Simoneaux, singer Bobby Page, singer/pianist Roy Perkins, and tenor saxophonist Scatman Patin. A previously unreleased track credited to Harry Simoneaux the Riff Raffs, the self-penned instrumental Anything Your Heart Desires, appears on the 1996 Ace compilation Roy Perkins, which has material by Perkins, Page, Patin, and Simoneaux. The song is an unremarkable midtempo instrumental with a walking beat, somewhat unusual for the style in that it features him on bass saxophone. ~ Richie Unterberger, Rovi
