Biography
Formed by the former guitarist for My Chemical Romance, Frank Iero and the Future Violents is yet another alias for the eponymous frontman's solo endeavors. This iteration -- featuring backing band guitarist Evan Nestor, bassist Matt Armstrong, drummer Tucker Rule, and Kayleigh Goldsworthy -- released the album Barriers in 2019.
Following his time with MCR and Leathermouth, the New Jersey-bred musician first unveiled his solo material under the name Frnkiero and the Cellabration, releasing the raucous hardcore punk LP Stomachaches in 2014. For his second round, Iero dubbed the project Frank Iero and the Patience and issued 2016's I'm a Mess, a raw and emotive blend of garage rock, emo punk, and hardcore. The third name change came in late 2018 and Frank Iero and the Future Violents released the album Barriers the next year. Produced by Steve Albini (Nirvana, Pixies, Helmet), the set recalled Iero's early-2000s emo/hardcore heyday, corroded with some grit and grime from the '90s alt scene. ~ Neil Z. Yeung, Rovi
