Biography
Ireland's second successive Eurovision Song Contest winner in 1993, singer Niamh Kavanagh was born in 1968, and had already carved herself a career in the Irish movie industry (she is heavily featured on the soundtrack to #The Commitments) before being invited to represent Ireland at Eurovision. Her winning song, In Your Eyes, became the year's best-selling single in her homeland, and was a major hit elsewhere around Europe. Since that time, Kavanagh has performed and recorded around the world -- her debut album, Flying Blind, was recorded in Nashville with John Jennings, while her collaboration with Gerry Carney, Together Alone, included a brilliant revision of In Your Eyes. ~ Dave Thompson, Rovi
