Eric Steel
Biography
Not a person but an actual band, Eric Steel hailed from Chicago and centered around singer/guitarist Bruce Hausfeld and lead guitarist Dave Anderson, whose blue-collar approach to heavy rock -- while in no way revolutionary -- proved competent enough to get their eponymous debut (also featuring bassist Mike Hobson and drummer Brad Wickham) released in 1984 by Megaforce Records subsidiary Avalanche. A second LP entitled Infections followed in 1988, and a third (named Back for More and introducing a new bassist and drummer, Paul Anderson and Johnny Cottone), belatedly, in 1992; but Eric Steel never did manage to elevate their game to major-league levels (resembling, at best, a poor imitation of New York City's Riot, or perhaps, L.A.'s Night Ranger) before calling it a career. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi
