Redd Sullivan
Biography
Redd Sullivan's vocals were essential to the sound of the Thameside Four, a late '50s skiffle group that served as the first band featuring influential British folk guitarist and vocalist Martin Carthy. The group, which also included Pete Maynard and Marian Gray, recorded one album, Hootenanny in London. Released in 1964, the album was recorded during a performance at a midnight folk concert and featured Sullivan singing a duet, With the End of Me Old Cigar, with Carthy. Sullivan later appeared on the multi-artist compilation, The Blues at Sunrise, with trio that also featured vocalist/guitarists Gerry Lockran and Dave Travis. ~ Craig Harris, Rovi
