Os Leif's was the third group of guitarist Pepeu Gomes, after the Cats and the Os Minos and before Os Novos Baianos and A Cor do Som. Os Leif's backed up Gilberto Gil and Caetano Veloso in their historic farewell show before the exile in London in July 1969, recorded live on Barra 69. Getting to know his future wife, Baby Consuelo (later Baby do Brasil), at that show, Gomes participated with Os Leif's in the Os Novos Baianos' (Baby, Moraes Moreira, Galvão, and Paulinho Boca de Cantor) early performances in Salvador and Rio de Janeiro and in four tracks of the Baianos' debut album, Ferro na Boneca, before leaving Os Leif's and joining the Os Novos Baianos. ~ Alvaro Neder, Rovi
