Biography
The elements of '60s West Coast pop and British folk dominate the harmonies and tone of British quartet PicaPica, who first burst onto the scene with their 2017 debut EP Spring Shade.
Formed by vocalists and singer/songwriters Josienne Clarke and Samantha Whates -- who had previously been collaborating for years after meeting on London's vibrant acoustic scene -- producer/engineer Sonny Johns, and Scottish multi-instrumentalist Adam Beattie, the group quickly brought together their loves of sunshine pop, indie folk, and '60s West Coast Americana. After the release of their debut EP on Rough Trade, the group spent time recording their follow-up as well as playing live dates across the U.K. The resulting long-player Together Apart, which was produced by Johns, appeared mid-2019. ~ Rich Wilson, Rovi
