A native of Ormand Beach, Kelley met future bandmate Tyler Hubbard while attending Belmont University in Nashville. Settling on the name Florida Georgia Line (Hubbard was born and raised in Monroe, Georgia), the duo ascended to the upper echelons of country superstardom with the release of their 2012 single "Cruise." By the time Kelley ventured into solo territory, the Grammy Award-winning duo had issued five gold and platinum studio albums and sent 18 number one singles to the Billboard Country charts.
Shortly after the release of the band's fifth long-player, Life Rolls On, in early 2021, Kelley issued his first solo EP, BK's Wave Pack, followed closely by the Billboard-charting full-length Sunshine State of Mind. Congruent with Kelley's easygoing "beach cowboy" demeanor, the records paired the good-time swagger of his flagship band with the sunny surf vibes of Jimmy Buffet. Kelley kicked of 2022 with the rousing single "American Spirit." ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
