Biography
Lílian (Sílvia Lília Barrie Knapp) had enormous success in the 60's during the Jovem Guarda with the romantic duo Leno e Lilian, with hits like "Pobre Menina" (Russel, version by Leno), "Eu Não Sabia que Você Existia" (Renato Barros/Tony) and "Devolva-me" (Lílian/Renato Barros, re-recorded with success in 2001 by Eliana Printes). As a solo performer/composer after the dissolution of the duo in 1968, Lílian had her "Como Se Fosse Meu Irmão" (1975) included in the soundtrack of the film # Pixote, selling 500,000 copies. With Paulo Coelho's version for "Sou Rebelde" ("Soy Rebelde", by M. Alejandro), Lílian sold one million copies in 1979, and in the next year she sold 850,000 ones of "Uma Música Lenta" (Ed Wilson/Robert Livi). In that period of great popularity she toured Brazil, performing also in Argentina, Colombia and Chile. She has had her compositions recorded also by Sandy e Júnior, Sandra de Sá, Zezé di Camargo e Luciano and José Augusto. ~ Alvaro Neder, Rovi
