Erica García
Biography
Ex-Mata Violeta singer/guitarist Erica García decided to go on her own in 1995. The artist got involved in music since learning how to play guitar at the age of seven, getting experience while participating in bands such as Divididos and Cienfuegos. In 1997, Ricardo Mollo produced her first album, called El Cerebro, showing Erica García's ability to combine jazz, rock, and Latin rhythms. To make her following record, bassist Martin Aloé, drummer Gustavo Glussman, and keyboardist Matías Zapata joined García. The final product of that talented reunion was La Bestia, released in 1998. The following year, the musician participated in Sandro's tribute album with a song called Quiero Llenarme De Ti. In the year 2000, Erica García successfully performed at Miami's Second Argentinian Festival, being nominated to a Latin Grammy for her song Vete Destino in the category of Best Female Vocal Performance. ~ Drago Bonacich, Rovi
