Biography
Actress, singer, and dancer Mackenzie Ziegler is an exuberant, pop-oriented performer who got her start on Lifetime's Dance Moms before launching her solo career. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2004, Ziegler became interested in performing around age two, when she started taking dance lessons at Pittsburgh's Abby Lee Dance Company. She was performing and competing with the company when it became the subject of the Lifetime reality series Dance Moms. She appeared on the show, which also featured her mom (Melissa Ziegler-Gisoni) and sister (Maddie Ziegler), from 2011 to 2016. Ziegler also made her acting debut during this period, appearing on the Nickelodeon sitcom Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn. Along with acting, Ziegler has modeled for Ralph Lauren, appeared in commercials, and released a fashion line with her sister. She has a robust social media presence, with millions of followers across several platforms. In 2014, Ziegler released her debut album, Mack Z, which featured the singles "Girl Party," "Shine," and "Christmas All Year." The album fared well, reaching the top of digital pop charts. More singles followed, including her 2015 duet with Johnny Orlando, "Day & Night."
