One of several solo projects pursued by Steve Mason following the Beta Band's breakup in 2004, Black Affair formulated a style of sleek, reverb-kissed, nocturnal synth pop that nodded to acts like New Order, the Scissor Sisters, and the Legends. Black Affair's debut single, Tak Attack, was released on V2 Records in the fall of 2007. Another single, It's Real, was released in the spring of the following year, and a third single, Japanese Happening, was scheduled for release in June.
