Go Sailor was formed in the Bay Area in 1994 by guitarist/vocalist Rose Melberg, who had already been a part of Tiger Trap and the Softies, former Crimpshrine bassist Paul Curran, and Henry's Dress drummer (and future Aisler's Set founder) Amy Linton. Over the course of a lifespan that lasted just around two years, the band put out three four-song 7" EPs, A Fine Day for Sailing, Long Distance, and Don't Go. Go Sailor broke up around 1996, the same year that Lookout Records compiled all of their EP tracks and two miscellaneous tracks onto a self-titled discography CD. In 1999, two of the band's songs were used in the film But I'm a Cheerleader. All three members of Go Sailor continued making music with different bands, and their discography was re-released in 2011, and again in 2022, both times by indie mainstay label Slumberland Records. ~ Fred Thomas, Rovi
