R.E.D.K.
Biography
One fifth of French hip-hop collective Carpe Diem, MC R.E.D.K. went on to become the band's most high-profile member after being recruited by fellow Marseille rapper Soprano. Known for their tales of social inequality and racism, Teddy, Picrate, Lo, Reso, and R.E.D.K. came together under the guise of Maudit Gang in the mid-'90s, but changed their name to Carpe Diem shortly after signing to Soprano's Street Skillz label in 2003. Their new boss continued to play a vital part in their career, producing several tracks for the 2005 street tape Notre Silence à Toujours Son Mot à Dire, but it was R.E.D.K. who he invited to appear on his 2011 album, Le Corbeau (Starting Block), and following the group's self-titled studio album, the two joined forces for the collaborative effort E=2MC's in 2012. ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi
