Comprising industry veterans Gold Panda and Jas Shaw, Selling is a direct marriage of the producers and their varying styles; half build-up-centric minimalism and half loosely gliding melodies. Their debut album, 2018's On Reflection, came together organically, its laidback style owing to recording sessions that weren't rushed due to a looming release window.

Shaw and Derwin Dicker (aka Gold Panda) first crossed paths in 2010, when Shaw was brought on board to produce Dicker's debut full-length, Lucky Shiner. They struck up a casual friendship over the following years; eventually Shaw invited Dicker down to his converted barn studio in Kent for tea, sandwiches, and the prospect of creating music together. Originally intended as a fun private project, they soon amassed an album's worth of tracks using cheap synths and a Cirklon sequencer. Due to Shaw's ongoing treatment for AL amyloidosis the duo made no plans to tour the album; as such, they gave On Reflection a surprise digital release soon after they finished putting it together in 2018. ~ Liam Martin, Rovi
