Biography
Techno producer Jay Denham (who is affiliated with the Detroit techno scene even though he resides in Kalamazoo, MI) began his production career as Fade II Black. His first release came in 1990, the In Synch 12" for Derrick May's Fragile label, which also featured the tracks Insistent Rhythm and The Calling. In particular, In Synch became a popular dancefloor track, and Neil Rushton soon licensed the Fade II Black productions for release in the U.K. on his Network label. Denham retired his Fade II Black moniker for several years, however, recording instead as Vice and as himself. In 1997 he revived the moniker for the four-track Dilemma 12" released by the Belgian techno label Elypsia. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
