Biography
Fat Amy is a big-hook punk band with earnest, soaring vocals. Formed in 1994 around vocalist Bobby Guiney, guitarists Mark Meyers and Kirk Reedy, bassist Britt Hancock and drummer J. Pico Gensterblum, the group gigged around the Midwest and released an EP on their own label. After recording their debut full-length 5-Way Switch in 1998, Fat Amy played with the Verve Pipe, They Might Be Giants and Fastball. An appearance on AWARE IV got them signed to Rubber Records, which re-released 5-Way Switch later that year. ~ John Bush, Rovi
