By 2014, Morris was actively working on her debut album with producer Ariel Rechtshaid (HAIM, Vampire Weekend, Charli XCX), and she released several more EPs leading up to its release. She delivered her full-length debut album, Unguarded, on Atlantic in 2015. Morris spent the next few years touring and writing in preparation for her sophomore LP, 2018's Someone Out There, which ventured further into electronic territory. Morris recorded the album with producer Fryars; during its production they began a relationship, and eventually moved in together and had a child. In 2019, Morris left Atlantic and signed to RCA. That label released her third album, RachelFairyland, in 2022. Recorded at home with Fryars and the High Llamas' Sean O'Hagan, and mixed by Shawn Everett, the album was designed "to sound like an old film" and had a woozy, old-time vibe replete with harps, strings, and other orchestral sounds. Named after her childhood Internet handle, it was heralded by the tracks "No Woman Is an Island" and "Running Shoes." ~ Timothy Monger, Rovi
