Biography
Formed in 1995, Long Island's Steplively was a ska band with a typically huge roster of hornmen and punky drum and string players. Soon after their formation, a group of the band's original members splintered off to form Edna's Goldfish, leaving the band with eight members. That collection of players was instrumental in crafting Steplively's self-titled debut EP, which was released in 1998 on Pinball Records. In the spring of 1999, the band lost another member, leaving a core of seven -- the configuration that was featured, along with guest appearances from members of Edna's Goldfish and the Stubborn All-Stars, on the group's first full-length album, The Trigger Effect, which was put out by Triple Crown Records in the fall of 1999. ~ Stacia Proefrock, Rovi
