Marie Knight
from Brooklyn, NY
June 1, 1920 - August 30, 2009 (age 89)
Biography
Versatile singer Marie Knight recorded gospel with the Millionaires, also cutting some nice pop-soul in the early '60s, and some jump-blues and doo wop-flavored RB. If she's known to rock fans at all, it's because Manfred Mann covered her 1961 single Come Tomorrow for a big UK, and small US, hit in 1965. ~ Richie Unterberger, Rovi
