Biography
Dirt Nasty is a moniker employed by Simon Rex, an actor-turned-rapper who began his acting career in the 1990s before branching off into rap 15 years later with a series of comedic YouTube videos that became viral hits. Born Simon Rex Cutright on July 20, 1974, in San Francisco, CA, he grew up listening to hardcore rap, heavy metal, and R&B. In time he moved to Hollywood and established himself as an actor, appearing in television shows such as #Baywatch and #Felicity as well as films such as #Scary Movie 3 (2003) and #National Lampoon's Pledge This! (2006). He also served as an MTV VJ for a brief period of time. During the late 2000s, Rex created a rap alter ego for himself, Dirt Nasty, and filmed a series of comedic YouTube videos such as 1980 and Cracker Ass Fantastic. Moreover, he founded the independent label Shoot to Kill Music, made his full-length solo album debut with Dirt Nasty (2007), and collaborated with Mickey Avalon and Andre Legacy in the group Dyslexic Speedreaders. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
