Dutch death metal band Soulburn was born from the ashes of one of that country's oldest proponents of the style, this being the overlooked but prolific Asphyx. Gathering steam in the late '90s, Soulburn members Wannes Gubbels (vocals/bass), Eric Daniels (guitar), and Bob Bagchus (drums) released 1998's Feeding on Angels through Century Media before deciding to resurrect the Asphyx moniker for future releases.
